About Architectural Grilles & Sunshades

Architectural Grilles & Sunshades manufactures the exterior elements that manage daylight and define a facade: horizontal and vertical sunshades, brise soleil, grilles, trellises and light shelves. Every assembly is made to the project, not selected from a fixed catalog of sizes.

Shading is a building-performance decision before it is an aesthetic one. Blades sized and angled for the elevation they sit on cut solar gain during cooling season while still admitting daylight, which reduces both mechanical load and the lighting load that would otherwise replace the daylight you just blocked.

Because these are custom-fabricated assemblies, the useful conversation happens early — while the elevation and the structural backup can still accommodate the attachment. We would rather look at a drawing at design development than price a shade that cannot be hung where it is drawn.

What's in the line

Product categories

Sunshades / Brise Soleil

Horizontal blade assemblies that cut high-angle summer sun on south elevations while admitting lower winter sun.

Vertical Sunshades / Brise Soleil

Vertical fins for east and west elevations, where the sun is low in the sky and a horizontal blade cannot reach it.

Grilles

Architectural screening for mechanical equipment, parking structures and service areas, specified for free area as well as appearance.

Trellises

Open overhead structures for entries, walkways and amenity decks, giving shade and definition without enclosing the space.

Perforated Sunshades

Perforated panels that soften direct sun while keeping an outward view and a lighter visual weight than solid blades.

Custom Machined Panels

Made-to-drawing panels for facades where the pattern is part of the architecture rather than a standard product.

Light Shelves

Interior or exterior shelves that bounce daylight deeper into a floor plate, extending useful daylight away from the glass line.
