About Pecora Corporation
Pecora has manufactured sealants and waterproofing products since 1862, and the range covers the full envelope: air barrier sealants, fluid-applied membranes, flashing, glass and glazing sealants, traffic coatings, and wall coatings.
Sealant selection is usually decided by movement, not by adhesion. A joint between two materials with different thermal coefficients will cycle every day of its life, and the question is whether the sealant can follow that movement for twenty years without losing bond. A product that tests beautifully on a static sample can still fail on a moving joint.
The second decision is staining. Plasticizer migrating out of a sealant into adjacent porous stone leaves a dark halo that does not wash off and cannot be repaired without replacing the stone — which is why non-staining technology is specified wherever sealant meets limestone, marble or precast.
